In the last months I became intrigued by these new technologies, who everybody is calling intelligent. LLMs, statistical prediction machines… Claude, Gemini an so on.
They are not intelligent, they are stochastic parrots with extreme dangers cooperated and carefully hidden in them. I have used free and open source software the first time 20 years ago. What lasted, that I value the best possible control of my strain of thought. I don’t want to sound like a machine in a few years and be a revenue producer – or better a small slot – for some psychotic and highly manipulative people in start-ups and data centers. These people follow a new kind of religion and that there is no alternative to this “progress”.
But progress into what? Millions of people will loose their jobs, the server farms are destroying landscape after landscape, use a crazy amount of resources and simply destroy creative thinking. And therefore real connections between people, which are the fabric of existence and always were. All of this leads to a extreme hyper-individualism without freedom, emotions, friendship, art, music, philosophy, spiritual experiences and the ethical production of knowledge. It is contradictory, that I use the medium of a blog. But I just can’t help myself and want my – to be honest – polemic sentences to be seen.
By whom? By crawlers of the Big Tech industry.
And who else?
